Our Story

Faith-rooted education in Muskoka since 1978.

Muskoka Christian School was established in 1978 by a group of concerned parents who wanted a Christ-centred education for their children, close to home.

Our mission

Learn truth. Live faith. Inspire hope.

Our vision

Inspiring students to glorify God on their journey in God’s story.

Our history

MCS opened in 1978 in a private home in Bracebridge, with 23 students divided into two classrooms. In its second year the school moved to a newly constructed building between Bracebridge and Huntsville, on land that had been the site of Utterson’s town school almost a century earlier, and in 1992 it grew with two spacious classrooms and a library.

In 2023, MCS purchased a 10-acre property at 370 South Mary Lake Road in Port Sydney, which is now home to our elementary school. That same year, our high school began as Muskoka Christian Academy; today Muskoka Christian High School meets at Founders Hall on the Muskoka Bible Centre grounds in Huntsville.

One school, two campuses

Muskoka Christian School is one school, Kindergarten to Grade 12, under one board and one Principal. Learn about our elementary school or our high school.
